Job Description for Engineering Business Development Manager
Surface Mount Technology Corporation is looking to expand its engineering firm SMT Engineering, LLC. SMT Engineering, LLC is a fast growing company specializing in designs of custom embedded electronics - from specification through production. SMT services a wide range of markets and from simple industrial controls to complex Medical and Military developments. Currently SMT is looking for a creative, confident, technically diverse Electronic Engineering Sales Manager to generate new sales revenue at our Appleton facility.
This is a new position with the following responsibilities:
Generate and manage new revenue
Provide technical solutions for customer/prospects
Create project proposals in conjunction with project managers
Determine the optimum use of company resources
Expand base and current customer sales
Develop target market plans in conjunction with SMT’s business plan and Manufacturer Representatives
Provide Manufacturer Representatives training as required
Support SMT Corporation and SMT Engineering overall sales growth
Bachelor's of Science degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience)
Excellent personal and sales skills
7+ years of experience in electronics sales and design
Strong written and verbal communication skills
In addition, experience or knowledge of the following is desirable:
PCB layout
Electronic hardware design of microcontroller based industrial controls
Embedded firmware design
Electronic product development process, including specification, design, rapid prototyping, verification, and safety and EMC compliance testing
Quotation development
Electronics manufacturing and custom manufacturing test solutions
Position reports to VP of Sales and Marketing and includes opportunity for advancement.
