Position Summary

Director of Program Management is responsible for being an influential leader ensuring that their teammates receive the mentoring, development and coaching required to be successful.  Responsible for setting clearly defined customer account goals with Program Management Team and acts as a resource for training/mentoring to achieve those stated goals.  Ensures SMT and PM provides superior customer service.  Identify, develop and maintain relationships with key customer decision makers to monitor, and grown the relationship.

Accountability and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for understanding and driving the customer P&L results to contribution goals, inventory goals and any specific cost drivers.  Work with site leadership in regards to customer initiatives such as determining priority for capacity conflicts and coordinating site revenue/P&L improvements.
  • Responsibility for all customer transfers and transitions – both in, out and from Engineering
  • Prepares and Coordinates outstanding customer visits both in person and virtually
  • Lead in negotiating and getting signed customer contracts and/or materials agreements. Creates, summarizes, and communicates data relative to customer satisfaction and assign action items to improve customer satisfaction
  • Manages the site staff of program managers to assure the best customer experience.
  • Work with team to develop proposals that speaks to the customer’s needs, concerns, and objectives.  Participate in proposal strategy and delivery
  • Coordinates and ensures completion of weekly customer dashboard

Position Summary

  • This position may start as part time, working into full time. This person will be assigned to the RPS area, but when workload is light, they will work in manufacturing as needs require.
  • This person must have good communication skills and be able to work well with both internal and external customers.
  • Skills should include understanding of printed assembly documentation. Including writing departmental instructions based off of customer supplied documentation.
  • Position requires Solder Certification.
  • This person must also understand IPC requirements as it pertains to inspections of completed assembly. Also, basic component identification is a requirement.
  • This person MUST have a positive attitude and a commitment to meeting deadlines, and must be able to work independantly. They must be flexible as duties can change and jump around many times throughout a day.
  • Person must be interested in learning many aspects of prototype assembly including, but not limited to:
  1. SMD Hand Place in solder Paste
  2. Material Receiving/Kitting
  3. Prep/Wave functions
  4. Solder/Rework training as needed
  5. HLA Assembly
  6. Conformal Coating (hand coat)
  7. Any/many odd duties
  8. 6S duties
  • Basic computer skills to train for Labor and Material Quoting as well as Material Purchasing as it relays to RPS functions if required. This will not be an immediate need, but more as a “phase in” as RPS grows.

Position Summary

  • Process departmental “First Article” approval
  • Create departmental work instructions in detail
  • Perform minor program changes as required by job instructions only as instructed by Technician
  • Perform minor equipment adjustment, repairs and periodic and monthly maintenance as  directed

Duties and responsibilities

  • Operate SMT equipment with proficiency, quality, efficiency and consistency.
  • Set up Feeders, Solder paste printer, P/P Machines and Reflow Oven.
  • Determine and bring up  proper programs and etc.
  • Hand place difficult components into solder paste as required (SMT)
  • Perform all necessary functions to independently operate the surface mount line
  • Operate X-Ray equipment to inspect and validate component placement.
  • Work with AOI operator to insure proper quality of surface mount operation.

And/Or

  • Asymtek 740 and 940 Conformal Coat Machine set up and operate
  • Potting (includes set-up, run and calibrate)
  • Operate the Infrared drying oven by setting required parameters.
  • Proficient in profiling the CC infrared drying oven
  • Q.A. Proficient with black light and touch-up
  • Proficient at running characterizations to determine machine performance

And/Or

  • Operate the Dip and Axial equipment
  • Perform minor programming changes or adjustment to the Dip and Axial
  • Perform preventative maintenance work orders on the Dip and Axial.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of six (6) months in Machine Operator C position or equivalent experience from previous work background which would qualify under duties and responsibilities
  • Work well with fellow assembly employees
  • Follow instructions provided by supervisor
  • Perform other work as assigned
  • Meets or exceeds the required level of quality and quantity results on a consistent basis
  • Successfully complete the IPC Standards Classroom Training
  • Successfully completed Component Value classroom study
  • Understand floor stock procedure

Engineering Careers

To successfully lead product development projects from initial customer contact through production introduction.  Will be responsible for defining the scope of work, performing, managing the project team, managing the customer relationship and at times performing design work within field of expertise. Must have a proven track record of electronic product development engineering experience, possess excellent customer relationship skills, be an excellent coach/mentor and have the ability to create and follow a disciplined engineering process.

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Coordinates the activity of the project team and the customer to ensure customer satisfaction in regards to SMT performance, project deliverables, schedule and budget.
  2. Serve as the customer’s primary interface for the duration of the engineering project to assure all customer communication happens in a timely and effective manner.
  3. Maintains knowledge and understanding of the SMT product development procedures to ensure compliance with quality procedures and to assure customer satisfaction.
  4. Maintains knowledge and understanding of project contracts including the proposal, Engineering Services Agreement, confidentiality agreements and other agreements that may exist to ensure SMT Engineering, vendors and customers fulfill their contractual obligations.
  5. Maintains technical expertise, and performs engineering design work on projects, within the scope of engineering experience.
  6. Uses product development experience to mentor and coach the team to ensure SMT Engineering delivers solutions that meet customer expectations.
  7. Creates product development project proposal, which includes statement of work, schedule, budget, engineering services agreement and assumptions and responsible for presenting proposal to customer.
  8. Participate in initial customer meetings to present SMT Engineering’s project plan and technical solution in order to win new product development business.
  9. Assist the Director of Engineering with performance appraisals by providing timely feedback regarding team member performance.
  10. Produce an acceptable amount of work in a timely manner.
  11. Perform other tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  1. Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or related field or equivalent industry experience.
  2. Possess a minimum of 5 years of experience as a lead engineer or project manager in an electronic product development.
  3. Possess a detailed understanding of SMT’s business and product development processes.
  4. Possess good project management and leadership skills.
  5. Possess good oral communication, written communication and presentation skills.
  6. Possess good conflict resolution and negotiation skills.

The Embedded Software Design Engineer will work with a team of talented and dedicated people to develop electronic products for OEMs in industrial, foodservice, computing and medical markets. Desired Skills and Experience

  • Experience with C language development and assembly level including the tools used to edit, compile/assemble and debug code in an embedded environment
  • Experience in developing, testing and documenting embedded system code for microcontroller based environments
  • Experience with communication and networking protocols, such as TCP/IP, USB and CANBus
  • Experience working with real-time operating systems such as MQX and uC/OS-II
