SMT is led by people who have spent their careers in electronics manufacturing. Brian Lamers, COO and Vice President, brings more than 30 years of EMS leadership and operating experience spanning finance, operations, supply chain, quoting, production planning, customer programs and manufacturing execution.
That perspective is grounded in the practical decisions required to source, launch, manufacture, test and sustain complex electronic assemblies in repeat production. At SMT, leadership is about presence, accountability and shared ownership—not titles, layers or optics.
We lead by showing up, working alongside our teams, valuing hands-on insight and giving the people closest to the product a voice in improving quality, execution and production efficiency.

Since 1997, Surface Mount Technology Corporation (SMT) has provided electronics manufacturing services for OEMs that need more than transactional board assembly.
From our Appleton, Wisconsin facility, SMT connects electronics engineering, prototyping and NPI, supply chain, PCB assembly, test and higher-level assembly to support complex high-mix, low-to-mid-volume products from development through repeat production and sustaining support.
SMT maintains ISO 9001, ISO 13485 and ISO 14001 quality and environmental management system certifications and supports customer-defined workmanship, traceability and controlled-program requirements.
SMT is a build-to-print manufacturing partner. Our customers control the product design, BOM, approved sources and other product requirements; SMT focuses on manufacturing execution, workmanship, process control and the operating visibility needed to identify sourcing, test, documentation and production risks early.
